Leica Guy Posted March 15, 2019 Share #41 Posted March 15, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) I like my Q as well and don’t need any reasons to stick with it. They would get in the way of upgrading to a Q2 which I expect to also like. 😁
Advertisement Posted March 15, 2019 Posted March 15, 2019 Hi Leica Guy, Take a look here Reasons to stick to Q1 instead of Q2. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
aalkaabi Posted May 22, 2022 Share #42 Posted May 22, 2022 we are in the middle of 22 and I still find my Q1 fully satisfying my needs. In fact it's the most used camera I have and I have many leicas :).
Asahman Posted May 23, 2022 Share #43 Posted May 23, 2022 I have #23 of #28 Nikki Sixx Q1so sticking with my Q1. Does the job and a great conversation piece
LondonL Posted June 2, 2022 Share #44 Posted June 2, 2022 I’m still very much enjoying my Q-P. It’s an incredibly capable camera. I might be tempted by a Q3 in the future but I don’t really need more megapixels so will be interesting if they include the M11 sensor.
smackie Posted June 5, 2022 Share #45 Posted June 5, 2022 I was torn between the Q-P and the Q2 but ended up with the Q2 because my main camera is an SL2 these days so it keeps the battery faff to a minimum when on the road…
TinovanDyke1 Posted January 1 Share #46 Posted January 1 Had no own comparison, so I cannot report personal expertise on Q2. 48 MP may be good for cropping however cropping plays no major role for me. 24 MP of Q1 produce about 48 MB, after correction for grain it's about 100 MB. Guys thats enough for my notebook. 28mm focal length is good, 20 or 24 would be even better. My interest is the Q lens, and this delivers extreme sharpness. We all know it is no real M comparable summilux but thats exactly why I want it. The Q is a closed system It uses software where needed and physical properties where software does not deliver. No physical highly expensive compromise like M lenses. So when I buy a Q, I buy something that makes the lens work, like Q1,2,3. Makes extremely sharp pictures which I can crop down to 5MP or less and they are still sharp. How are darkness properties? So called Mr Leica used some evening time in his hotel room to compare Q1,2,3.Winner Q1, 2nd Q3, clear loser Q2. So on review basis I bought a quasi new Q1 (Leica dealer expo, zero shoot) for 2.5K. But how about weather sealing and 4k? I usw my Q1 when skiing, snowboarding, gravel bike tours, got it in my jacket front pocket. 4K? Great for taking single Pics from a 4 k Film. But for slow motion and video, 120 FPS HD of the Q is perfekt. For anything else like rain, snow, 4k or better film formats my IPhone 15 pro is the right companion, beating by length all full format cameras on the market up to Sony A1. So would I change my Q1 for a Q2? I like 24 MP, I like low light, so absolutely No without compromise. And for a Q3? Yes. Then sell it, get another Q1 and a new Canon R5ii for the spare. And invest a little bit more for a Leike M 50 1.4 + adapter in the Canon. Because I adore the high tech - old fashion mix. (Because) my customers pay for that.
