Here are my two features I requested last year:

- A grid view (3x3) to make sure shots are straight without a level

- Bracketing settings - to set a -2;0;2 exposure instead of the default -1;0;1 row.

These shouldn’t be to hard to implement.

Let's hope.  We probably need to see firmware upgrades for the cameras that don't directly compete in the new L-Mount grand arena.  I think that's why getting an SL-Fotos upgrade out on announcement day was uppermost in priority.  I'd like to see some CL and M10-D firmware upgrades (yes there are some bugs in there still) as well as Fotos function enhancements.

Here's my list of requests for improvements to the Foto's app / M10-D:

1) When in the Remote mode, allow a landscape view when you rotate your phone.

2) When in Remote mode, tapping on a place on the screen will set the point where the camera zooms in when focusing. Essentially doing what the M10-P does.

3) Having a bracketing option of -0, -2, +2. Or better yet, having a 5 bracket mode with 1 stop increments: 0, -1, 1, -2, +2.

4) When in remote mode give us an option to turn on a level gauge. It would be even more awesome if they also gave us an option to turn on a level gauge when using the visioflex.

5) Fix the bug that causes the foto app to crash when trying to format a card. The card will format but it's annoying having the app crash.

Leica could really make this a pretty well rounded camera if they just unlocked certain capabilities through the foto's app. I really love not having an LCD screen on the back of it for 80% of the time. But there are occasions when we need to be able to use our smart phone as an LCD replacement with the same capabilities as what the M10-P has. If Leica would just grant us that it would make this camera really incredible.

GPS tracking. The best thing would be if it was possible to write the GPS data into the DNG files afterwards, to save power.

I know we can sync a GPX file in Lightroom, but it would be nice to do this directly in the camera.

With the M10-D many settings of the camera are visible in Fotos (it's the only way to reach them), but are not accessible on an M10.  One of them is a switch to let you automatically set date and time to be in synch with your mobile device.  That's really useful, on any camera that doesn't have a strong built-in GPS.  Why not make it available for the M10 and M10-P?  And probably the CL/TL as well.

As available in the M10 & M10-P with "screens"... would be technically feasible in FOTOS  to set White Balance (WB) manually in Kelvin... it's all firmware ready.... just FOTOS app lacking. Thanks for adding this simple fix!

Have been "told" via email, "legacy lenses" will "be accounted for"  in camera firmware .

Lots of loose ends, yet, must say the M10-D is welcome... although my film M's are, atm, reliable ;)

David

I think it is time for a little update of the FOTOS app as the last 2 months have not brought us any updated features. Thanks for your contributions everyone - let's hope somebody from Leica picks it up from here..

. ....

It’s already been pointed out that it’s very slow to connect. Maybe that’s simply a function of the hardware and nothing can be done about it.

However, I’ve been finding that even though I am connected, I still get a “trying to connect” message even though I am connected and have been so for a couple of minutes and the image download is well underway.

This has to be a glitch of some sort and it would be nice to get that fixed.

The next thing is that it would be nice if the downloads would start as soon as one had selected an image. At the moment if one has 40 or 50 images, the download doesn’t start until they have all been selected. Given the speed of the whole process, this is quite a waste of time.

It will be very nice to have some default settings. They would include:

Download as soon as images selected

download JPEG/PNG/DMG + JPEG - (it’s a real nuisance having to tell the app every time to do this and it simply slows us down.) It would be great simply to configure a number of defaults and as soon as you start selecting images, the defaults cut in and it starts downloading.

I can imagine that these tweaks must be very easy to do so, Leica, how about it?
