jaapv Posted March 9, 2019 Share #3 Posted March 9, 2019 That is pretty good for a 47 MP sensor. Could you do a high-contrast series (night outside) too ?
viramati Posted March 9, 2019 Author Share #4 Posted March 9, 2019 (edited) Thanks so much for this Dan. So I'm beginning to see banding at iso 25000 which is pretty good though not quite up there with the Sony A7rIII sensor. A huge improvement on the Q Edited March 9, 2019 by viramati

ravinj Posted March 9, 2019 Share #9 Posted March 9, 2019 I always wonder about the practical applications of shooting at very high ISOs, say 25,000, esp when stabilization is available and then worrying about banding/noise.

NicoTheStan Posted March 10, 2019 Share #13 Posted March 10, 2019 Reposting my question here (missed this thread, sorry ) What about shutter speed at high ISO? The Q was limited in bulb mode when pushing ISO high. Not handy for night photography. Is it now possible to make long exposures with ISO at 3200 or 6400? Does it still require the NR frame to be taken before the shot?
Ufuk Posted March 10, 2019 Share #14 Posted March 10, 2019 Obviously more color noise on Q2 images comparing to the original Q, especially on the last two 25 and 50k ISO
NicoTheStan Posted March 10, 2019 Share #15 Posted March 10, 2019 Thanks Ufuk. I am not really interested in the super high ISO settings, I never use them. I would like to know if the shutter length has been increased at 3200 or 6400 ISO compared to the Q, which would also mean a better performance of the sensor in my opinion (the length limit of the Q was probably there to preserve image quality). For smaller than full zoom I am sure 12500 will be just fine.
