No chance that price is right. The lens itself is $8k. The camera itself is 8k.

I really wanted to buy the Gibson model and the Jim Marshall...Still wish I didn't hesitate on that one.

I heard from a very reliable source that we will see another Gibson Monochrom camera in the next year or so.

Someone said that the Japanese translation indicates the lens is for illustration purposes.  In any case, it’s obvious the quoted price does not include both.

In addition, the M Monochrom was the original M9/CCD-based body; I suspect this is an M246 Monochrom.

Sloppy report all around.

Jeff

The release last week of the "Your Mark" edition of the Monochrom really does make me think the M10 version will be out in May, on the 4th anniversary of the Monochrom-246. Since this last special edition was limited to 80 sets available through Leica Stores only, 46 months after the launch, this really does seem like about the last bit of juice they can squeeze from the model.

The original Monochrom was released in September 2012, the M-240 was available last week of February 2013, and two years and three months later came the Monochrom-246. Gap between original Monochrom and Monochrom-246: 32 months.

The M-10 was available late January 2017, and two years + three months gets you to April. Right now, the number of months since the Monochrom-246: 34.

It won't be immediate, because the Q2 is just out. May 2019? We shall see...

When I wrote the above post, I had not realized that Photokina 2019 would take place in May, as it starts its annual schedule.

Just saying...
