stevenlai Posted March 1, 2019 Share #1 Posted March 1, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hey guys, I came across this lens but noticed that when I screwed the lens into the focusing apparatus that the aperture indicator is not completely at the 12 o'clock position. It is slightly to the right, as if it needs to be screwed in just a bit more. Have any of you experienced this and does it affect focusing? Michael Geschlecht Posted March 1, 2019 Share #2 Posted March 1, 2019 (edited) Hello Steven, Welcome to the Forum. To begin with: Does the serial number on the lens head match the serial number engraved, scratched, or on a piece of tape inside the lens mount? And, does the little 2 digit number which might or might not be engraved on the lens mount near the feet/meter mark have a matching number on the lens head but on a portion of the lens head that is hidden when the lens head is mounted in the focusing mount? Best Regards, Michael Edited March 1, 2019 by Michael Geschlecht
pedaes Posted March 1, 2019 Share #3 Posted March 1, 2019 If you are talking about rigid or DR Summicron, not unusual but I have not seen a credible explanation.
UliWer Posted March 1, 2019 Share #4 Posted March 1, 2019 I am not sure what "slightly off to the right" means to you. Obviously slightly off, or just a little bit slightly off which you notice only if you look at it very close? Yes, the latter version applies to my Summicron as well: Welcome, dear visitor! ckuwajima Posted March 1, 2019 Share #5 Posted March 1, 2019 My Collapsible Summicron screwed to a L-M mount adapter does not align exactly at 12 o'clock, but works flawless.

Rus Posted March 2, 2019 Share #7 Posted March 2, 2019 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Found a video about the Rigid Cron. It seems that realignment will involve taking the optical unit out and repositioning the notch on the side of it which sits together with focus stopper inside the focusing unit when assembled. Not having a Rigid Cron at hand, I'm not sure how this should be done. Best send it to a shop. Edited March 2, 2019 by Rus
M9reno Posted March 2, 2019 Share #8 Posted March 2, 2019 The issue is just cosmetic and will not affect correct focus.
