Leica One Challenge Amsterdam 2005 (n°2) part 1

Recommended Posts

Brings back some memories!

I had a film misload which I luckily noticed halfway through (film wasn't winding on) and was late getting to the bar for the start as I had forgotten to put my watch forward, so I arrived just as everyone else was heading out to start shooting! That was another freezing cold dank dark afternoon, just as bad as the London meet, but great fun of course.

Yes but it got very bright later (which was tricky as the lady had reset my R9 without me noticing, so things got a bit technical during the shoot...)...😵

I think you did make it back to 'Le Frog et Rosbif' for the football though...  😀

Amsterdam was the last “there and back in a day” Challenge we have done. Made more of a weekend of it from Paris onwards.

Yes, Frog was Paris (clue in the name!). I didn't stay over in Paris, day return on Eurostar. I stopped over in Amsterdam but it was before the days we organised an evening dinner (and it was a Sunday I think).

That's right - the pub was selected by Pascal Mehut (with his usual sense of ironic humour) and was at the corner of rue St Denis and rue Turbigo; I seem to remember you had a cold on the day - although we had met in Chelsea previously, it was the first time that I had many of the international forum members

I used to have lunch there some Sundays - I lived about 10 minutes walk away. Good beer, newspapers to read and often some live jazz; what’s there not to like?

I'd certainly go there again (in fact I have) - it was welcoming and had good food.

I have asked Andreas to set up an Amsterdam (and Seville) folder in the One Challenge section.
