The crowd was already gone. You will be quite surprised seeing people fight to get their tripods in the best position. We saw them coming back from their morning shoot. We had the place almost for us and still the glow was going on. I had my Canon 5 D MKIII with a super wideangle lens positioned on a tripod and with grad filter etc.

My Q here served as backup camera, while I was also busy with an Olympus and Telelens...

Iduna,  I have been Mesa Arch at least 10 times.  It never ceases to amaze me to watch the photographers literally fight for tripod access.  Of those 10 times, I watched two fist fights and a third event, two park rangers were on the scene for photographers needing "anger" management.  Very sad commentary on how "civilized" humans treat each other.  All that aside, I like your image of Bryce Canyon and "Thor" formation...another favorite park of mine in winter.  r/ Mark

Oh, your story is quite painful?

I hope, you could yet have your own moments there.

We were late there, but could enjoy a tranquil and relaxed atmosphere. We could not get the shot with the sun and its starlight effect but life is like that. We left the place feeling very happy to have made it.

Thanks for your feedback.
