lct Posted August 3, 2007 Share #81 Posted August 3, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) ...you didn't respond to my question about variations in French question marks... I can't seem to recall the question you asked Howard, sorry. ...crop factors don't change apertures. But they do change _effective_ apertures. ...the point has been repeated on LuLa... Looks like i've missed something here Howard as i don't know what is an 'effective' aperture and what is LuLa as well... if it's not the name (or the nickname) of the President of Brazil of course . I can just repeat that i agree with what Guido wrote above: 'a Cron is a Cron, no matter if on FF or M8'. Quite obvious to me.

Guest Motivfindender Posted August 3, 2007 Share #84 Posted August 3, 2007 Incidentally isnt it entirely possible that this new engineer might simply be replacing someone who retired, left for a better paid job at Zeiss, or heaven forbid fell under a bus? That's what I thought, too. And there is also a much worse version: Perhaps excellent engineers capable to solve unsolvable-said technical problems were too frustrated being reduced to an instrument of a certain Mr. Lee, who said (not directly, but between the lines) in his interview, that he will clearly prefer quantity rather than top-quality? Who knows? Perhaps they did not change to zeiss, but just escape? Just my 0.02 Cents... Dirk
