bags27 Posted February 20, 2019 Share #1 Posted February 20, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have been using the SanDisk Extreme Pro 64GB SDXC in my Q with very good recording speed. The same card seems a bit slower in my CL, yet the files are smaller. Is there a faster card (or obvious setting) that I'm missing? (writing only dng in both) Even stupider question: the memory card goes in face away from the battery in the Q but face toward the same battery in the CL. Just curious if anyone knows the technical reasons why Leica put the connection in different places.
Advertisement Posted February 20, 2019 Posted February 20, 2019 Hi bags27, Take a look here Another stupid memory card question. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
frame-it Posted February 20, 2019 Share #2 Posted February 20, 2019 could be that the hardware /buffer/write speed of the 2 cameras is different
M.piras Posted February 20, 2019 Share #3 Posted February 20, 2019 I don't know if can help but my local dealer suggested me to use only Samsung PRO 32 Gb cards nothing else, he told me give the best result on M and CL. Effectively they have a wonderful behaviour and i feel safer to shoot on more "smaller" cards reducing possibility of lose the work is something go wrong. About the "smaller" file, it doesn't depend by card. How much smaller? Have checked dimension shooting on pc trought the app fotos? So you can compare on card and on storage? Or shooting the same exact picture with two different cards. I think (and hope) is just a feeling. About connection, slots for SD can change position (and verse) depending on space disponibility sincerely i don't care too much on position..it is an automatic gesture after a while.. Another example. Compare the zoom lens on the XV with that on the CL. Both designed by Leica. Similar specs, but see how macro is implemented. At widest angle on the latter; but at the telephoto end on the XV which is much more practical. Edited February 20, 2019 by wda

Are you sure its DNG files are smaller? I suspect they are similar since they are not compressed in the CL. I would format the card with SD Card Fomatter before ordering another one personally.
