I do not pay for LR CC, but I can use the Library module. So I made a comparison, Enhanced on the left Welcome, dear visitor! Advertisement Posted February 14, 2019 Posted February 14, 2019 Hi Nordvik, Take a look here LR Enhanced Details. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Nordvik Posted February 14, 2019 Author Share #2 Posted February 14, 2019 Then I exported the Enhanced version from LR 8.2 to LR 6 as a TIFF and made some crops: Enhanced first then LR 6, both have more sharpening than normal: Welcome, dear visitor! Nordvik Posted February 14, 2019 Author Share #3 Posted February 14, 2019 I did a testprinting from the Enhanced picture on a 5x7". This should be equal to a crop from a 44" printer. All pictures from M10 and 1979 APO-Telyt 3,4/180 wide open at 3,4. Welcome, dear visitor! pedaes Posted February 14, 2019 Share #5 Posted February 14, 2019 Thanks for posting examples and starting thread. Have played with a few images, and it seems to make a small but worthwhile improvement to some but little difference to others. It is worth reading Adobes notes on the camera / lens requirement to have sufficient RAW data to 'enhance'. A Leica M10 and APO lens meets the criteria. Nordvik Posted February 14, 2019 Author Share #6 Posted February 14, 2019 The improvements seams to be in correcting the false colour and other artefacts from the AA-less sensor common to most Leica Cameras.
Nordvik Posted February 14, 2019 Author Share #7 Posted February 14, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) I would think pictures from Leica M8 will benefit most from this. Will test this weekend.
Guest Nowhereman Posted February 14, 2019 Share #8 Posted February 14, 2019 The Adobe blog had an informative article on Enhanced Details.
Nordvik Posted February 15, 2019 Author Share #9 Posted February 15, 2019 Here are the worst false colours I could find with M8, they are everywhere. Moire Reduction at 100 did not fix this. Nordvik Posted February 16, 2019 Author Share #11 Posted February 16, 2019 Some with M9 and Zeiss Biogon 2,8/28. The false colours here are not such a problem, but I am impressed with the result. jaapv Posted February 26, 2019 Share #15 Posted February 26, 2019 I'm not convinced that this is better than a PS USM sharpening at 25,50,1.
Nordvik Posted February 26, 2019 Author Share #16 Posted February 26, 2019 As far as I now that is what LR do.

jmahto Posted February 27, 2019 Share #19 Posted February 27, 2019 I played with it using few files in LR. I do see good results at the pixel level but Itvis most noticeable if picture contains text/graphics because we know what cleaned pic will look like. In any other pic with very fine details, the effect of “enhanced detail” gets lost. No different than other sharpening techniques (which add artifacts but we don’t care as long as it looks sharp). LocalHero1953 Posted February 27, 2019 Share #20 Posted February 27, 2019 I used it on this image and it made a difference to my eye. The difference between this tool and others in LR is that it doesn't act in the same non-destructive way. I guess that's why it creates a new dng raw, so you can still go back to the old one if you want.
