Pecole Posted February 1, 2019 Share #1 Posted February 1, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) I am just reviewing the images in the files of my Fontenelle collection, relating to the hundreds (?) Ever-Ready Cases (ERC) and others I had. Here are the ones I believe most interesting. - The EROOR is designed for Leica IIIg with either a wide angle lens or a collapsible 50mm. - The ESNAR for Leica II or III with Elmar 5 cm is common, but the model above is in hand sewn pigskin and was offered as ESNARSKIN. - The EXOOM allows the mounting of a Xenon lens on the Leica. - I never discovered the meaning of this "JNV. 49. 302" embossing on the base of an ESNAR. Any idea? - The ESNEL of 1927 was the very first ERC for the Leica I. Securing the camera was only through the rounded opening !!! - The ESOOR case had a special base allowing the mount of a Leica IIIc with the rapid winder SCNOO. - The WETISY case is relatively rare : it allows the joint transport of a 13,5 cm Hektor or Elmar and a 35 mm Elmar. - And finally, this special ETRIN case (offered by Leitz?) has a detachable laterally mounted leather tube containing an extinction meter (Leicascop?). Pecole Posted February 1, 2019 Author Share #2 Posted February 1, 2019 The first code is evidently bad spelled : one must read ENOOR, of course. I apologize : age is (only part of) the explanation...
willeica Posted February 1, 2019 Share #3 Posted February 1, 2019 I have many of the cases shown above, including the ESOOR for the SCNOO. My big problem, though, is getting someone to repair the cases when the stitching comes apart. Any tips about self-repair would be gratefully received. kangaroo2012 Posted February 5, 2019 Share #4 Posted February 5, 2019 Hi William, In my youth I made some leather cases for cameras. The method I used for sewing was to use 2 needles and waxed thread. The needles pass through the pre -made hole in opposite directions to give the desired pattern seen in the examples from Pecole. A thimble is a great help. Philip the Magnanimous Kangaroo 2012
