LexS #1 Posted February 1 New Firmware for Leica Q: 3.1 Instructions for installing are WRONG as well in English as in Deutsch: they forgot that starting to install with the SD card with the QUF file on it in the camera, you have to startup the camera while holding the Video button (like always), the sentence after that in the instructions is superfluous. PS: this time the camera date was not reset (hurray). Added by LUF Admin: Here are the improved details of firmware version Leica Q (v3.1): Simple and convenient connection with the Leica FOTOS App by scanning a QR code on the monitor screen of the camera. WiFi can now be activated directly with the FN button, eliminating the need for accessing sub-menus. The WiFi name and the password are permanently assigned to enable faster reconnection and more convenient handling. Automatic configuration of the WiFi function. » Download Leica Q Firmware V 3.1 3 2 Phil4369, leffe, turner and 2 others reacted to this

chaynes4@me.com #7 Posted February 1 2 hours ago, Coolattitud said: thank you I was looking for install, no mention in the instruction manuel !!! I've charged and tried three batteries, downloaded the firmware three times... The instructions indicate that the menu reads Main Menu / Camera Information / Camera Firmware, mine reads Main Menu / Camera Information / Firmware Version 3.0. In any case after I insert the SD card and navigate to the Firmware menu item nothing happens.
LexS #8 Posted February 1 As I said the instruction is wrong. After you have the SD card with the update on it in the camera, you have to start the camera while holding the (red) video button (like it always was with a FW update). 1 eprom reacted to this
marchyman #9 Posted February 1 And, if you happen to use one of the options where the LCD isn't lit, you may have to hit the menu button to wake up the screen to see the "do you want to install" message. Leica really screwed up the doc that came with the Q update. Probably cut and pasted from some other model.
Mark Lyka #10 Posted February 1 All about the WiFi. I hope 3.1 does not disable the original Q app in favor of FOTOS. The original is better, with better control.
chaynes4@me.com #11 Posted February 2 Thanks everyone. That first posting didn't show for me the first time around and I was looking at "Thanks!", etc, not understanding the solution had been posted and what everyone was so grateful for.
turner #12 Posted February 2 Annoying at best! Thank you for the heads up. May this be the worst to happen in our life................
fatgum #13 Posted February 2 (edited) I got a "system error" message while updating my QP. Anyone can help please? I made sure the battery was fully charged and the 64GD SD card was formatted. Edited February 2 by fatgum
