Advertisement Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 Hi emanuele, Take a look here ITOOY for Summicron 50mm Rigid. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
luigi bertolotti Posted February 1, 2019 Share #2 Posted February 1, 2019 I think no : I have to find my ITOOY in some drawer (it's years that don't use it) , but have here a 12575 (90 + 135) , made a quick trial, and even with it the Summicron I does not vignette, even at short distance like 1-1,2 mtr : here's a quick cellphone pic of the combo : Welcome, dear visitor! Vedo il tuo paraluce però effettivamente è più largo verso la parte finale... il mio è stretto. Alla fine l'ITOOY di cui parlo è già mio, e se riesco a risparmiarmi quei 100 euro e passa di paraluce è meglio.

Thank you!! Dear Emanuele, Unfortunately the ITOOY does cause vignetting on the 50mm Summicron. When I read your post I put my ITOOY on the said chrome Summicron and here is the effect: Welcome, dear visitor! Mute-on Posted February 1, 2019 Share #5 Posted February 1, 2019 On the other hand, the IROOA/12571 would be perfect, although I prefer the 12585 on a 35 Summaron.

hektor Posted February 1, 2019 Share #7 Posted February 1, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) When the rigid Summicron was introduced the IROOA was Leitz' recoomended lenshood. That is what I use on mine.
hektor Posted February 1, 2019 Share #8 Posted February 1, 2019 (edited) Emanuele, don't buy a Leitz ITDOO. Buy the IROOA Edited February 1, 2019 by hektor

luigi bertolotti Posted February 1, 2019 Share #12 Posted February 1, 2019 (edited) IROOA is the one I depicted above : it's ITS hood as for Leitz specs of the era (and is written onto !! Indeed, was initially advertised for the collapsible Summicron... but works fine on the rigid too (the version with large collar has the same heigth/width) Edited February 1, 2019 by luigi bertolotti
hektor Posted February 1, 2019 Share #13 Posted February 1, 2019 About the right price: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Leica-IROOA-Original-Metal-Lens-Hood-for-50mm-35mm-Summicron-M-Lens/273666142557?_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D20131003132420%26meid%3D3cb08ee3a1a54dee9b62c988399dcbc0%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D152503975377%26itm%3D273666142557&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851

Similarly to the above, I have tested the IROOA on both my rigid Summicrons, one being the near focus version, and even wide open there is no flare when applying the Erwin Puts test.
emanuele Posted February 1, 2019 Author Share #15 Posted February 1, 2019 Just now, hektor said: Sì. Analogamente a quanto sopra, ho testato l'IROOA su entrambi i miei Summicron rigidi, uno dei quali è la versione near focus, e anche a tutta apertura non c'è flare quando si applica il test di Erwin Puts. Oh great, thank you Hektor! I use a ventilated hood but the flare is in some situations ...
hektor Posted February 1, 2019 Share #16 Posted February 1, 2019 (edited) Have you had your Summicron cleaned internally? At the same time have all internal metal painted matt flat black. Ottmar Michaely is the Feinwerkmechanikermeister to do it. That Summicron is an incredible lens, I would argue noticeably sharper than even the latest according to my "fence test". hektor Posted February 1, 2019 Share #17 Posted February 1, 2019 I tried Luigi's suggestion of the 12575 and here is the result. Luigi must have tested with the lens stopped down considerably.
