Guest Posted February 1, 2019 Share #1 Posted February 1, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've received a new Fotos app overnight (for iOS) - it includes a "new quick connect feature for Leica SL and Q" (which sounds very promising, the long connect times are a pain currently!). When I try to connect it to my SL (running 3.3 FW), it fails, displaying an error that I need to update my camera firmware. The link to do this only takes me to 3.3 however ... 3.4 incoming today? Advertisement Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 Hi Guest, Take a look here New Firmware/Fotos App?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
arvin Posted February 1, 2019 Share #2 Posted February 1, 2019 (edited) My SL connects to the Fotos app fine without any issue. It also disconnects quite happily most of the time. Therefore it's somewhat useless IMO. :*( Edited February 1, 2019 by arvin
Guest Posted February 1, 2019 Share #3 Posted February 1, 2019 Did you get the new Fotos app released overnight?
LocalHero1953 Posted February 1, 2019 Share #4 Posted February 1, 2019 I've received it for android. I haven't updated yet, but it promises: - bluetooth support for D-Lux & C-Lux (which I guess don't have wifi??), with remote wake-up to connect to a camera, date and clock time sync - 'Easy Connect' feature for SL and Q (??) - Major performance & stability improvements - sounds good

Guest Posted February 1, 2019 Share #6 Posted February 1, 2019 The 3.4 firmware is now released.
Guest Posted February 1, 2019 Share #7 Posted February 1, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Connecting via WiFi and the Fotos app does now seem faster (although I haven't done it for a while with the old app, so difficult to quantify how much better this is - seems usable now to me though, whereas before it seemed to take ages). LocalHero1953 Posted February 1, 2019 Share #8 Posted February 1, 2019 I've just tried it with the CL: no quicker to connect, and image download speed seems little different: 175 secs for 5 images (35s/image). I'll try it with the SL later, but it's the CL I'm most likely to use it with. Maybe it needs new f/w for the CL as well
Guest Posted February 1, 2019 Share #9 Posted February 1, 2019 It's only for the SL and Q, according to the Fotos app update notes.

Guest Posted February 1, 2019 Share #12 Posted February 1, 2019 It's on the Leica UK site, perhaps you just need to force a page refresh?

arvin Posted February 1, 2019 Share #14 Posted February 1, 2019 Does your SL ”disconnect” from it? Establishing the connection is never a problem for me, but disconnection! I will try later. Thanks.
Guest Posted February 1, 2019 Share #15 Posted February 1, 2019 It hasn't disconnected yet, but I've only done a few minutes of testing (I also experienced problems in this area when I tried it before).
