sshire Posted January 28, 2019 Share #1 Posted January 28, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've been waiting for the 55-135 Vario-Elmar ASPH (ordered from Ken Hansen) for months. Ken has no idea what is going on. Just noticed that on the Leica USA website, ALL 3 zoom lenses have been removed. No listings. Any ideas? Advertisement Posted January 28, 2019 Posted January 28, 2019 Hi sshire, Take a look here T mount zoom lenses M.I.A.. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
sshire Posted January 28, 2019 Author Share #2 Posted January 28, 2019 Interestingly, the website us.leica-camera.com shows all T mount zoom lenses. The website, leicacamerausa.com shows NO zoom lenses. Now I'm really confused. I've just emailed Leica USA for clarification.
M.piras Posted January 28, 2019 Share #3 Posted January 28, 2019 hello sshire, by what i can see on the net leica-camera.com (with all it's nationalizations ...it - us - uk - ) it's registered by Leica Camera AG so is the OFFICIAL website leicacamerausa.com on whois database, hide the owner (and this is not good thing) is not registered by leica, and if you watch the website is COMPLETELY different by leica-camera.com websites (they are the same all over the world) also the https certificate is signed by a turkish stated blockchain company.... now I am not writing leicacamerausa.com is a Scam, but for Sure is not the Official Leica Voice...than last but not least i would not buy anything by a shop hiding it's owner identity.. If i was in you, i will contact us.leica-camera.com to see for disponibility of the zooms, or do it through a trusted physical shop. Hoping to help M
sshire Posted January 28, 2019 Author Share #4 Posted January 28, 2019 Thanks so much. It is very misleading. Looks like an official site. Curious to see what Leica has to say both about the “other site” and the 6+ month long unavailability of the 55-135.
jaapv Posted January 28, 2019 Share #5 Posted January 28, 2019 Report it to Leica - there may be a trademark violation there that they can pursue. They don't like things like this.
nicci78 Posted January 28, 2019 Share #6 Posted January 28, 2019 Same in France. A guy just took over the old french Leica URL and sell some weird accessory under the so called Leica umbrella.

sshire Posted January 30, 2019 Author Share #8 Posted January 30, 2019 Mystery sort of solved ? I noted that the address (74 Arlington St, Boston , MA) is also the address of The Leica Store Boston. Reply from leicacamerausa.com " The website www.leicacamerausa.com is our consolidated web store for all your Leica needs, and allows for the purchase of Leica products direct from Leica Camera USA. We host and maintain this site from within the US. The website www.leica-camera.com is the corporate website from Leica Camera AG – US being the United States market version of their site. This site shows off the full line of products produced by Leica Camera along with specs, example images, software downloads, PDF user manuals, etc. and functions purely as an informative website. This site is maintained in Germany for continuity across all markets, internationally. I hope this is helpful.
