Jul Posted January 24, 2019 Share #1 Posted January 24, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just today in my own letter box between 11 and 12 this morning. I bought the lens from this ad on the french Leica forum: http://www.summilux.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=90172 I found the open packet this morning in my closed letter box. The postman sometimes just leave paquet there, he has a pass for it. Police is aware. So I anyone sees a Summaron 35 2.8 # 1947547, please let me now. Welcome, dear visitor! marcg Posted January 24, 2019 Share #2 Posted January 24, 2019 I live in Paris (unfortunately) and our postman does exactly the same kind of thing. They are extremely slack and I think that it is probably because they realise that by and large they are completely unaccountable. You can phone and complain till you are blue in the face but you can guarantee that nothing will happen. Was it sent tracked or insured? I suppose even if it was insured, they will argue that it was delivered to you and of course you have no evidence that the parcel was simply abandoned on the shelf - "colis volumineux". However, if it was sent by a method which needed a signature then you can challenge them to produce your signature - you might have some kind of success but don't expect it to be easy. Jul Posted January 24, 2019 Author Share #4 Posted January 24, 2019 It was tracked, but signature was not required and as it seemed obvious to me that for such an object signature would be mandatory, I didn't check that point with the seller beforehand. I read some happy end in some thread about stolen item, I just hope this will end the same way.
