Rob7P Posted March 12, 2019 Share #82 Posted March 12, 2019 Hi, I'm new to the forum so hi to everyone.I'm also interested in buying a TL for the price over the TL2, I read that the TL2 have a dust protection and the TL no. It's true? Can be an issue in the long term? official TL lenses have also a sort of dust protection? thanks Roberto

colonel Posted March 22, 2019 Share #85 Posted March 22, 2019 I agree that the T and now the TL2 are some of the nicest designed cameras on the market. In some ways it’s ahead of its time IMHO to get the best out of it it should be used without the VF and just with touch focus. a T with a TL lens is a real pleasure to use a real shame it never took off

You will never make me chimp or "touch focus" (with the nose?) against my will. Just kidding

I’ve never enjoyed using a digital camera as much as this.
nicci78 Posted August 12, 2019 Share #88 Posted August 12, 2019 After 6 months with the T I sold it. And not regretting it. But I really appreciate it for the time being with me. T fatal flaws : - very bad video quality. Just unusable. A shame. - bad quality live view. Kinda weird to see. Negating the slightly bigger screen estate advantage. Makes the T hard to use for manual focusing - No focus peaking. Not essential for M lenses. But makes the T slower to use with them. - slow AF. Except with certain lenses such as Elmarit-TL 18 - no integrated EVF. Visoflex typ 020 is ugly, huge and fragile. But it can tilt up. - build quality is almost excellent. Some weird unfinished part such as lens mount and bayonet release button section. Make it looks cheap. T best ideas : - very nice digital focusing scale - very nice colour rendition (kinda Kodachrome like) - very nice touch interface. Very easy to use. But not much better than typical menu system - fast WiFi transfer - nice integrated pop up flash. Though not powerful enough. Combine with very slow flash sync. It is not useful enough. Sorry, but I couldn’t keep the T as a backup camera. Q and CL are so much better, camera wise. Do not waste your money. Even if you find a dirt cheap T.
