jpreisch Posted January 18, 2019 Share #1 Posted January 18, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) Is anyone using flash on their Q? I'm interested in starting to use one. I would also like to use the flash off camera with a remote trigger. So far all I can find is the SF 60 and the SF C1 remote, but no info on how it works on the Q. Thanks
Advertisement Posted January 18, 2019 Posted January 18, 2019 Hi jpreisch, Take a look here Flash for the Q. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
LexS Posted January 18, 2019 Share #2 Posted January 18, 2019 There is the SF26 for Leica Q, fill in flash mostly. And there is the SF4, much more powerful. Do not use the Metz equivalent because these Q models have a special firmware to work perfectly with the Q
LexS Posted January 20, 2019 Share #3 Posted January 20, 2019 I am sorry: for SF4 read SF40
Leica Guy Posted January 20, 2019 Share #4 Posted January 20, 2019 I use an SF-40 occasionally with the Q. It works and is much better IMHO than the SF-26. I owned an SF-26 and sold it to trade up to the SF-40. I’m satisfied with the switch. The AAA batteries in the SF-26 were annoying to me. The AA’s are much better in the SF-40. I only use rechargeable batteries. It’s easier to do bounce flash with the SF-40. I have not yet had a need for wireless flash on the Q.
