hunterspoint Posted January 17, 2019 Share #1 Posted January 17, 2019 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have the EVF/LCD set up for auto in the menu however only the EVF comes on when I raise it to my eyes. When I go back to the LCD the EVF stays on. I’ve taken out the battery and restarted the camera. The only thing I have t tried is a complete camera reset Any ideas ?
Advertisement Posted January 17, 2019 Posted January 17, 2019 Hi hunterspoint, Take a look here Leica CL EVF/LCD problem. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
WeiterWinkel Posted January 17, 2019 Share #2 Posted January 17, 2019 Have you tried cleaning the sensor right above the EVF? That could help. Cheers, Thomas
jaapv Posted January 17, 2019 Share #3 Posted January 17, 2019 A common problem. The ocular must be cleaned, especially the small sensor window on top. Clean it right up to the edges and remove any smearing. I must put this one in the FAQ.

tommonego@gmail.com Posted June 20, 2019 Share #5 Posted June 20, 2019 My CL just spent a month at Leica for this, the diagnosis was faulty/dirty sensor. Tried to keep it clean but just wasn't working. I think the micro brushes help more than a Q-Tip or glasses cleaning cloth, but got them too late. Before I sent it off there was basically no switching to the LCD, had progressively gotten worse even with trying to clean the sensor area. Camera is back and behaving. huwm Posted June 20, 2019 Share #6 Posted June 20, 2019 I used an alcohol swab pushed into the corners with a cocktail stick

It shouldn't be cleaned too wet. Cleaning fluid penetrating the edges will make the problem worse.

That is probably what finally happened, but was having the problem for a while before Eclipse came pouring out while trying to get a drop.
