I just received my Summicron 50mm APO lens in black.

The packaging was large and amazingly elegant for such a small lens.

I'm looking forward to giving my new lens a workout over the next few days and report back my initial impressions.

Regards,

Bud James

Congratulations on getting your 50APO.

After I got mine,  I have difficulty wanting to use either of my 35FLE and 50FLE.

It elevates my captured shots to a whole new level of imagery that I find most pleasing.

Here are some initial shots taken today with my new APO 50mm mounted to my M10.

I processed the DNG files in Capture One Pro 12 and output to JPGs with minor cropping and adjustments but at the default sharpening. These small images don't give them just as compared to being viewed on my large monitor. I'm looking forward to make a few prints.

Enjoy it in good health.

I have to enjoy it in good health, since I now have no money for doctors after buying it. :)

Why do they need to do that and what do they get for their money?

The NHS might fail in some areas where private health plans or the funds to pay for immediate/enhanced care would benefit those lucky enough to have the means, but care for children isn't an issue AFAIK.

Perhaps,, like using a Leica, it is something they choose to do because they can afford it, even though it is far from necessary.  I’m sure Bud just doesn’t know and means no disrespect.

Discussion going a bit off topic! (tempting to get stuck in but I will resist)

I've recently re-acquired this lens after some time away, and am enjoying getting reacquainted with it.

Actually, the reason was that the kids had allergies and they were refused adequate treatment because it was deemed unnecessary. The needed a specialist so they had to go out of pocket. This was many years ago.
