I have a new MacBook Pro which only has  thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) ports. I purchased a Sandisk EXTREME PRO SD UHS-II CARD USB-C READER for it.
My daughter is accompanying me on an upcoming trip so I needed a CF card reader for her camera and purchased a Faracent 3 in 1 USB-C Card Reader
I thought I would do a read speed comparison with the two. For the test I copied 53 GB (1192 DNG files) from the card to the computer.
The results are:

There are no surprises here. If you are using a UHS-II card the UHS-II reader is significantly faster. If you are using UHS-I cards the difference is small.
The Faracent reader feels okay in quality, but the Sandisk Reader feels very solid. I'll bring both on the trip.

completely agree. Last week I bought another brand, but swapped for the SanDisk. Happier now :)
