Happy new year guys!

On the last day of 2018, I have finally pulled the trigger and get myself a Leica.

I chose M10 with a 35mm Summicron. Decided to buy it from the best Leica Store in Singapore - the one at Raffles Hotel. Helpful and passionate staff, well above Singapore's average. They even have a built-in LEITZ Cafe in the store offering free hand brew coffee and sweets! Definitely check it out if you ever visit this country.

OK - the camera! Here's some photos (of it and taken by it).

View them HD here: https://imgur.com/a/6OeKowl, though this link won't last forever. (Nothing will anyways...)

Thanks for sharing the happiness with me~

Congratulations. Don't forget to post some results in the Photoforums and/or M10 image thread.

Thx!

I notice that each post can only have 500KB of attachment.

Do people post pictures one by one? Still the quality loss is massive.

Using external sites will result in potential broken image links in the future.

So how are people supposed to do it?

Need some advice.

Read the posting instructions. Embedding larger images from other sites is not allowed either. If you reduce to 1280 pixels on the long side as required, reducing JPG to ±10 will normally get you under 500 kB without significant quality loss.

Congratulations!

I purchased my first Leica, the M10, along with a Summicron 35 and Summilux 50 a year ago in November. My Fuji X system sat on a shelf mostly unused for all of 2018. I still love the Fuji X system, but for most of my photography, the 35mm lens is perfect, therefore, the M10 has been seeing all the action.

Bud James

Congratulations.  I loved Singapore  when i visited in September 2017.   Somehow, the only Leica boutique I didn’t visit was Raffles.    Maybe next time!

enjoy the camera and lens combo. I added that lens when i visited HK last year and it hasn’t been off the M10 since.

Congratz on your new camera,  Wow.... the things one has to do to get a free hand brew coffee in S'pore !!!

I'm there in 3 weeks time, guess I'd better bring my M240/50APO to see if I get a free brew

Haha, people there are very nice, they will invite you for the coffe and sweets, you don't have to buy anything.

From what I heard, by the time you come, they should be providing donuts. Drop by and have a taste!

What a contrast in customer service. Last year I traveled 5 hours to take a faulty body to the London store.  They knew that but I wasn’t offered even a glass of water.

Oops, that will eventually cost the store a lot more than just glasses of water. And I can totally share your feeling.

But generally speaking, there are ignorant staff everywhere. I am super lucky to meet someone that's knowledageable, passionate and proud of the products in this store.

Many luxury boutiques in SG are full of those kind of people that treat what they do as merely a business, and don't even love what they sell. I have learnt to lower my expectations, LOL. Otherwise the world is too much of struggle - even when you are the one paying money.
