Rick Painting Under Black Light, 7Artisans 35mm f/2.0, M10. Stumbled across this lens used for almost literally pocket change ($200 credit already with the store from a previous trade, plus $15.08. Figured - why not give it s whirl? ;)

Definitely this biogon is my favorite 35mm M lens in terms of rendering.

It’s the Distagon, not the Biogon (though that also seems very good).  The out of focus rendering in @mheine’s images was one of the factors which pushed me over the edge to order this lens (now somewhere in a logistics centre or aeroplane on it way to me).

My mistake. I meant the Zeiss 35mm 1.4. The big boy. Happy with the ergonomics, John?

Haven’t got it yet.

When the Distagon was first released, there was a lot of comparison on the forum to the FLE and comment about its size.  I had just sold my 35 Summicron ASPH, and had lost interest in 35mm focal lengths.  As I use, and am happy with, the 21 Summilux, 28 Summilux, 50 Noctilux 0.95 and 75 Summilux, I’ll be surprised if the siz and weight of the lens will bother me.  I quite like heft in a lens, and it is no incovenience to me to move the camera to see what is obstructed by the lens in the view finder.  The framing on the M cameras is approximte at best …

Gates and font designed by the Cardozo Kindersley Workshop. I'm a trustee of Wesley House, and was involved in the commissioning of the gates!
