Until some of the recent "upgrades" to Lightroom Classic I was using a preset for b&w with the embedded M10 profile as a starting point, then adjusted with the B&W mix. This no longer seems possible, I can either use the embedded profile with saturation -100 but then without the B&W mixer channel or use the Adobe profile with the B&W mixer. In my opinion the embedded B&W rendering is nicer so this is a bit frustrating. Am I missing a trick somewhere?

I agree that the M10 B&W profile is nice, and it is still available. I have mine under both "Profiles" and "Legacy" in the Profile browser (click on the four small squares at the top right of the Basic palette). If you add it as a favorite, it will also appear under "Favorites".

These two simultaneously? I cannot see any problems with that.

Thank you very much for responding. Your screenshot is EXACTLY what I would like to see so if I was looking at your computer I would also not see what the problem is 🙂

But if I select the Leica M10 profile and click on "Treatment: Black & White" then the profile automatically changes to Adobe Monochrome. And if I do it the other way around, click on "Treatment: Black & White" first and now select the Leica M10 profile then the picture changes back to colour. So I must be missing a detail somewhere.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

You are absolutely right. I had marked the color profile as a favourite and then, at some point, I must have unclicked "Legacy" in the "Manage Profiles" function. Therefore the B&W profile simply did not show.

You're welcome!

It's easy to get confused when the names are so similar. I must admit I got confused too, when I said that the M10 B&W profile was located in both the "Profiles" and "Legacy" group. Because the B&W profile is only in the "Legacy" group, while the one in the "Profiles" group is the M10 color profile. 😁
