It is common one. Just as Jaap has described, something like lines of aligned bubbles. 

I was watching how mine was progressing. One tiny bit and then more and more. Not cleanable as regular spots from fresh shutter oil spills and dust.

Also, I recall that unless an M9 has the latest, "guaranteed not to corrode" sensor, you can't install the latest firmware (1.216), jaapv, would that be correct? If that is the case this would be proof of sensor replacement.

One can install (1.216) regardless of sensor version.

Here is the release notes for 1.216 attached.

It has no new sensor indication, just added support for two lenses.

I was able to install it on M-E prior to new sensor procedure.
