Map450 Posted December 11, 2018 Share #1 Posted December 11, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Afternoon all. As of 2 days ago I received my first Leica as a a gift. Couldn’t be happier with the camera, it’s functionality and photo capability for an entry level camera. I however am having a heck of a time trying to transfer pictures taken into the fotos app? Anyone else have this problem or could point me in the proper direction would be GREATLY appreciated. I have successfully connected the camera via WiFi just can’t get the photos into the app. I’m using an iPhone 8 If that makes a difference. Many thanks! Cheers mike-

fred244 Posted December 17, 2018 Share #2 Posted December 17, 2018 Haven't tried transferring files yet but noticed when the D-Lux 7 and my smartphone are paired up and running, I don't see the zoom function on the phone screen. Kind of assumed it was an option there also, think the D-lux had that function remotely. Any other experiences out there ! Thanks.
fred244 Posted December 18, 2018 Share #3 Posted December 18, 2018 Here is the response from Leica FOTOS support, remote zooming is not supported, yet: 'I forwarded your request to the "Leica FOTOS"-team. We are actively looking into that feature for future versions, but unfortunately we can not make sure to include it in a near future update. Thanks for providing the feedback, it helps a lot to further improve Leica FOTOS.'
stuny Posted December 19, 2018 Share #4 Posted December 19, 2018 Generally speaking, transferring photos via Wi-Fi is slow. I prefer to move the SD card to an SD card reader on my computer for fast transfer.

Cheers mike- I had the same problem initially when I tried to connect the camera to the App. The wifi connection was OK but it would not transfer pictures. The problem was that I had not followed the connection instructions to the letter and that is why it was not working. You have to be precise with the order in which you turn on the camera and then the app for it to work properly. Reset everything and then re-nstall the connection following the precise order and it should work.. Peter
Hanska47 Posted December 25, 2018 Share #6 Posted December 25, 2018 I bought my D-Lux 7 4 weeks ago. I had long "fights" with the FOTOS app and could not get it going properly. The Leica importer in the Netherlands advised me to talk to the specialists in Germany. These people advised me to install a new version which should come somewhere in December 2018 / January 2019. The bluetooth connection and GPS with my iPhone 8 should work than. I'm waiting and look if there is a new version of FOTOS.

I'm waiting and look if there is a new version of FOTOS. I bought my D-Lux 7 about the same time, and I've had no success in using it with the FOTOS app on an iPhone SE. The app has today (2nd Feb 2019) been updated to include the previously missing Bluetooth support, but, try as I may, I cannot get it to pair with the camera. Normally I transfer photo files direct to my Windows machines by cable or the SD card, but the FOTOS app would be useful in the situation where I want to add an interim stage, and transfer from camera to the phone, up to a cloud drive, and then eventually down to the PCs. I'm beginning to tire of trying to get this to work properly.
