I’ll just point out that on another similar thread topic (Theft), details of the leica Owners area give details of how to keep a proof of ownership record of all your lenses and bodies ( Serial numbers and photographs) on a Leica database. Non Leica equipment can be included. Once registered, anyone acquiring your equipment legitimately or through dubious channels will be unable to register the item without your help.
