I usually keep my bag under my chair in a restaurant with my foot against one side or the strap wrapped around the arm of the chair, etc. There is usually a tablecloth on the table, so the bag is not so apparent. Just did a 7 country tour of the Med, including Barcelona which is notorious for thieves. No issues at all. I know how you must be feeling having had a lot of M gear stollen on the Leica One Challenge in Portugal. The insurance covered approximately half the new value and so I was able to replace most of it with secondhand equipment. Hope yours was insured. I would recommend you send the Serial Numbers to Leica Service as I think they check when they get anything in to repair. A Monochrom was part of my equipment stollen and I was hoping whoever stole it would send it in thinking there was a fault as it only took B&W pictures. Good luck. chris_tribble Posted November 28, 2018 Share #11 Posted November 28, 2018 (edited) If you're in the UK and haven't got unambiguous all risks cover I strongly recommend Aaduki (and I've no commercial interest in this!) They're good value, efficient and gave me full replacement value when an M9, 75 lux and 35 cron asph were stolen when I was in a restaurant in Lisbon. I also get 3rd party cover through them. I would point out, the only reason I got half the value was because the maximum pay-out, when stolen from a car was £10,000 and the replacement value just happened to be £20,000. I carried my 2 Leica M10’s, and 4 Leica lenses in my Hadley One bag. The whole kit weighs about 10 pounds and I never left it out of my sight. I had no issues, but it was inconvenient to carry it all of the time. i pay about $500/year for a rider to my homeowner insurance to protect for 100% of the purchase price with no deductible. This covers both my Leica and Fuji X kits with a total value of $50,000. Well worth it for my piece of mind. Being able to carry 10lb is just too much for me given my weak back. For travel, I’ve trimmed my kit to M10 plus one other lens. I don’t have a rider. Just a policy to cover all risks. For my next trip, I think that I will just take one M10 body, Summicron 35 and 75 lenses along with my Sony RX100V compact camera for video and family snapshots. I will put this in my smaller Hadley Pro bag. The total weigh will be about 5 lbs. Much more manageable.
