poli Posted November 21, 2018 Share #1  Posted November 21, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Recently there have been updates of Raw Power both for MacOS and iOS. I have been using the trial and it seems attractive. The user interface is very easy for an amateur like me. However I am also using a trial of C1 and it seems that C1 gives much faster and easier good results. Especially regarding dynamic range. So I am inclining to bite the bullet for C1. However there is a big difference in cost. Another advantage of Raw Power is that it's also working on iOS, so you can use both iPad and computer. Does anybody else have use Raw Power and likes to share their experiences? Cheers!

rob_w Posted November 24, 2018 Share #2  Posted November 24, 2018 Thanks for posting. I'm still using the last perpetual version of Lightroom but tracking competitor products with a view to switching once one of them is sufficiently mature. That means Luminar, ON1, ... DXO PhotoLab etc. It's quite time consuming, as you cannot make a judgement until you've invested some time with each of the trial products. So far, none of them have convinced me. Also tried C1 in some depth. Great results but it is too complicated for my regular needs and most of the competitors can produce similar results with a little care. RawPower caught my eye because it builds on the DAM features of Apple's Photo and it's not hard to imagine it closing the gap to other competitors once a few releases have matured. As you say 2.0 is just out. Have not seen any reviews yet. The developer was head of the Aperture development team so has a pretty good pedigree! I would be happy to follow your experiences as you work through the trial. And to contribute my own when I get a chance to spend some time on it, probably over the Xmas break.  Cheers Robert
