Advertisement Posted November 21, 2018 Posted November 21, 2018 Hi oudjunk, Take a look here Has anyone used the canon 85 mm f1.2L (V1) with Novoflex on SL?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
hillavoider Posted November 21, 2018 Share #2 Posted November 21, 2018 auto focus is slow as hell, and manual focus is strange as its by wire on the canon 85, however....pictures are awesome, just really hard to nail at f1.2

a.noctilux Posted November 21, 2018 Share #4 Posted November 21, 2018 (edited) Chalat, I don't have this 85mm, but the EF L 50mm f/1.0. Warning for manual focus 🤢. If it's "by wire like mine 50mm, you would not be able to manual focus "by wire". Check that out before buying. Just for fun, I posted here sometime ago the sizes of those f/1.0 lenses in Canon EF mount and Leica M ... Results are much better on Leica's Noctilux Welcome, dear visitor! Simulation of non adjustable aperture = always full open like somebody's would like the Noctilux to be 😂. I wonder why the front lens is so large on EF with same specifications as Noctilux from this thread "Would you ever sell your Noctilux" ? hillavoider Posted November 25, 2018 Share #7 Posted November 25, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) manual focus works no problem, its actually quicker then the constantly hunting auto focus
a.noctilux Posted November 26, 2018 Share #8 Posted November 26, 2018 Roy, Hillavoider, nice to know that focus in manual or autofocus works with Canon EF 1.2/85mm on Leica camera. I thought that 1.2/85mm lens is "focus by wire" that works only with Canon EOS cameras.
hillavoider Posted November 26, 2018 Share #9 Posted November 26, 2018 (edited) Images from the lens are pretty good, it just looks a bit crazy on the SL to focus manually you need to switch the lens to MF Welcome, dear visitor!
