If you look underneath the camera you will see a little catch that releases a door. Behind that door is the compartment where the battery and SD card are housed. If you did not insert an SD card before you started shooting you may have no images. If you did that, connect the cable between the camera and the computer. Then turn on the camera. You should now see the SD card showing on your computer desktop as a storage device. Click on it and it should open up to reveal you images. Drag them to your desktop and then edit (if you wish) in the image software you have on your computer.

I would strongly recommend reading the instruction manual if you have not already done so as this information is all in there and its all worth reading.

Hi when I connected a USB cable I bought for the Leica Q to my MacBook it said on the Leica, “usb mass storage connected”, but no photos where transferred to my MacBook. How do I transfer the photos?

also, where is the sd card slot located?

Hi Carla,

I can't help you with the first question, simply because I never use the usb cable to transfer images to my MacBook Pro. (Bad Idea IMO)

I simply get the card out and put that in a card reader, which is much quicker and safer. The card slot is located in the battery compartment at the bottom of the camera.

Between battery and rear of camera.

Hope this helps.

Ohhh....Already answered by Le Chef while I was typing😀

I only picked up the camera once and had a quick glance at the controls, but I'm obviously not an owner (yet...) and bow to that knowledge. I never use the cable on my camera either. I much prefer to fish out the card and use the reader on the computer and go from there.

I had forgotten that the Q has a port!  My half case has been installed for 2 ½ years... covers the cable port cover.

I always pull the SD cared, load its contents into my Mac and/or "MyPassport" if traveling.

The latest test version of the Leica FOCUS software seems much more reliable and I'll test it this afternoon...  It transfers quite well -- I use it when on the road to download an image or two to my phone for sharing a "proof" copy.
