It's very nearly that time of year again - the 11th November.
This year is the centenary Memorial Day.

In honour of a great uncle: Lce Cpl William Andrew FAIRBAIRN, H/6139, "B" Sqdn 8th K.R.I. Hussars. Died 13 June 1915, Aged 28, of wounds received at Ypres.

A lovely photo of the Moggie, and a nice way to observe the centennial.  In the US, prior to 1954 we called it Armistice Day, but changed it to Veterans' Day after that.  I think the UK has the better current title, one that specifically honors the dead.

Thanks Stuart.

My "everyday" car has a sticker in a window in support of the Royal British Legion. But Morgan windscreens don't have much spare space for such things.

I should really be heading for the town centre on Sunday (with the Leicas) to the war memorial, but will be elsewhere. I might get to attend a march on the Saturday instead.

Meanwhile, a little more research into the 8th Kings Royal Irish Hussars continues.
