There are other categories already: Nifty Fifty, UWA, etc. However, a number of people use the 24mm lens which is a wide angle but works wonderfully well with a Leica digital camera ... especially if using LV or an EVF.

Here is an example.

Another example: Porto in northern Portugal, taken at night with no tripod or monopod and no flash. It shows how well this lens deals with poor light situations while still providing good image quality.

This is a good idea for a thread, but when you refer to "the 24mm lens" in your initial post are you referring to the 24/3.8 specifically, or any of the Leica 24mm lenses?

@Prosophos Thank you for your positive comment and question. Any 24mm lens qualifies for this topic. I just want to see what others have done. My lens is the Leica 24mm f/3.8 which I love as a wide angle. There could be better lenses and I am sure there will be better photos. My amateur status means that I try to get the best shots I can for my personal pleasure. Surely there are professionals who can do a lot better so we can all learn?

Best wishes. Peter

Thank you for the clarification!  I look forward to seeing others' 24mm images (as I too am fond of the focal length).

By the way, you are being too modest with respect to your own contributions.

From a couple of months ago, with a 24 Elmarit-M on the SL. On the SL, you can bring up an artifical horizon in the viewfinder that helps keep the camera on the straight and level, avoiding the sort of distortions that occur if you tilt the camera. Assuming you're trying to avoid those distortions.

Here is one with the Summilux 24 on Sony A7R III, at about f/8. I find the lens impressive, especially knowing the A7 is not the best fit because of its thick sensor cover glass.

Wide open, the lens is softer, borders and corners are not great, but the overall rendering is very pleasing to my taste.

Here is a picture taken with my 24mm f/2.8 on my M9.  This was my first trip to the area with the M9 although I have had it for several years, previously always using my M6 and PanF.

It is at the top of Hlobane mountain in KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa.  There wasn't much room right at the edge with a long drop off the  top!  This was last March and I had only had the lens a short while, but thought I would try it as a compromise between the 35mm which I often find not wide enough and a 21mm which is sometimes too wide!

Interesting. I have no problem to use 24-105 zoom at the wide end. While with traditional external VF and RF 24mm lens I wasn't able to get used to framing.

CV CS 24 f4 M PII on M4-2.
