It works, but the “LV” screen which appears is relatively small. I have the pro. Well, I'd call it a failure, when active functions of the app are limited to vertical mode on your device - be it an iPad or whatsoever. The old Leica M-App already didn't have this limitation and even the Fotos App shows that it should be possible to use horizontal mode as well, since the photos in the "Gallery" are displayed both ways. Advertisement Posted October 29, 2018 Posted October 29, 2018 Hi UliWer, Take a look here Leica Fotos App - does it work with M10 ?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Gobert Posted October 30, 2018 Share #42 Posted October 30, 2018 In that perspective I agree. Luckely, I was more interested to have a look at the app rather than having the intention to use it frequently.

erl Posted October 30, 2018 Share #44 Posted October 30, 2018 Very frustrated here! I am running FW 2.6.5.0. on my M10. I read earlier in this thread that 2.6.5.0.1 is the latest, yet on Leica's home site they are offering 2.4.5.0, 6 moths or so out of date. I have just downloaded the Leica app onto my Huawei P10 and it briefly connected (after much fuffing around) and I managed to download and send one image. Now, absolute no luck. The app keeps telling me it cannot connect to wifi, despite the camera being recognized. Do I need to download 2.6.5.0.1 and if so, where do I find it? Fortunately I do not depend on this latest facility, but that is not the point. I want it to work, seamlessly.
scott kirkpatrick Posted October 30, 2018 Share #45 Posted October 30, 2018 (edited) 2.6.5.0 is for the M10. 2.6.5.1 is for the M10-P, and apparently mixing them up has bad consequences. Don't do it. I'm running FOTOS with both Android and iOS versions, and they work pretty well with the M10. I usually start the M10, switch on its WiFi, wait for the QR code to appear, even though the app knows the serial number and the password that it will use, because the network isn't started by the camera until the QR code appears. (You can check this by going into systems/wifi on your phone and listing the networks currently in range.) Then ask Fotos to connect to the M10. I am disappointed by the relatively few controls that the app currently makes available. Only the drive setting (single/continuous/self-timer) shows up so far. I want to use it with an M10-D to set a few things where I don't want the factory defaults. The M10-D instruction manual promises that I can reduce focus aids to manual-only, and select auto ISO settings that I prefer, so I assume that we will see these options before too long. (Maybe we can already -- I don't have a -D to try it -- but you can't do this on an M10.) We're only at 1.0.2 so far in the app software. scott kirkpatrick Posted November 2, 2018 Share #48 Posted November 2, 2018 1.0.1 for iOS does much more with the M-10D than it does with an M-10. See my screenshots over on the M10-D thread of this forum. 1
erl Posted November 2, 2018 Share #49 Posted November 2, 2018 My M10 just started working with the Android app this morning, for no apparent reason. (That's what computers do I guess). It now has the option of Remote control of the camera, which is nice for some occasions. It never displayed that facility before. I hope it keeps working, mainly because I hate anything that does not work properly.
Guest Posted November 5, 2018 Share #50 Posted November 5, 2018 I have two iPads, a regular sized one and a iPad Mini........neither of which will let me download the Foto's App, taking me instead to a Leica Gallery App out of Sao Paulo for some reason. No other Leica Fotos App comes up when I search for it on either iPad, so my question is is the App only designed to run on recent iPads, not earlier models? Both iPads are up to date as far as their operating software, ( iOS 9.3.5 ). The App works ok on my iPhone 5 though, but a larger screen would be good to have at times. Any clues would be welcome, thanks!
scott kirkpatrick Posted November 5, 2018 Share #51 Posted November 5, 2018 I think you need iOS 11 or 12 for FOTOS to run. If your iPads consider themselves up to date with iOS 9.x, they may be too old.

That means that the Fotos App overrules the manual settings except for the aperture setting on the lens (that is fully mechanical of course). The app does not show the „guessing“ of the set aperture either. Hi There I think (hope) that this over-ride only works for ‘remote’ shooting from the app? UliWer Posted November 5, 2018 Author Share #54 Posted November 5, 2018 Yes, when you just use the camera without the app, your original settings are the same as before.
robert blu Posted November 5, 2018 Share #55 Posted November 5, 2018 Great, it works on my M10 and the old i.phone 5s ! I'm not such an expert but found it not difficult. Probably because I carefully went through this thread a couple of time before upgrading fw (both on i.phone and m10), downloading etc etc. Thanks everybody guys 🙂 robert
M11 for me Posted November 6, 2018 Share #56 Posted November 6, 2018 vor 14 Stunden schrieb jonoslack: Hi There I think (hope) that this over-ride only works for ‘remote’ shooting from the app? Best Jonathan That is what I just found out with my M10 and the App. First picture: Settings on cam 1/125s and ISO 800. Result as expected with these settings shown in the EXIFs Second p.: Not touching the cam‘s setting except opening the menu and establishing the connection to the app. Settings changed in the app to 1/15s and ISO 100. Shutter release pressed in the app. Result according to EXIF according to settings in the app and not cam. Third p.: No changes neither in the app nor camera but pressing release button on the camera this time. Result still according to the settings in the app. Fourth p.: Closing LV on the camera and releasing on the camera again without screen on. Result: Settings still according to the app. Fifth p.: Closing the app on the iPhone and cloing iPone too and releasing on the camera (App release not availabke any more). Result still according to the previous setting in the app even though this one is closed. Sixth p. : App still closed and changing the time to 1/60s leaving ISO untouched at 800. Result according to EXIFs: Time 1/60 as on cam but ISO still at 100. Seventh p.: Waiting 1 minute until cam went to sleep. After waking it up and taking a picture the settings were accorting to the cam’s settings and not from the app any more (ISO at this time) I could reproduce that behavior
Jeffry Abt Posted November 23, 2018 Share #57 Posted November 23, 2018 Thanksgiving Day Leica Fotos worked great! I took the shot. The family rummaged trough the shots to pick the ones they wanted. I walk off with out having to work the images. Welcome, dear visitor! mdemeyer Posted November 25, 2018 Share #58 Posted November 25, 2018 One nice thing about the new app... with the old one my experience was that 30-40% of the DNG transfers were corrupt when they reached the iPhone. Have had 100% reliability with the new app. 🙂
scott kirkpatrick Posted November 26, 2018 Share #59 Posted November 26, 2018 (edited) BTW, the Android FOTOS app recently received an upgrade. The current version is 1.0.7. The iOS version was also upgraded about a week ago, now at 1.0.2. Both say they support one more camera model and have received various bugfixes. and function improvements. They seem to work the same to me with the M10-D. Haven't tried with other cameras yet. edit (12/31/2018): current version of the iOS FOTOS app is now 1.0.3. The Android version is still 1.0.7. I assume updates will continue to be offered, since neither is completely bug-free and there are promised features that have not appeared yet. If you are using FOTOS and encounter problems send the support team a note using the built-in complaint/feature request facility which is under the chrysanthemum symbol. They should keep hearing from us. It will keep their spirits up. Edited December 31, 2018 by scott kirkpatrick update current release nos.
Jeffry Abt Posted November 27, 2018 Share #60 Posted November 27, 2018 (edited) I see the Fotos app as a major success for Leica. It is clean, uncluttered and it works. This is the kind of work one expects from Leica. Congratulations Leica! Edited November 27, 2018 by Jeffry Abt
