willeica Posted October 27, 2018 Share #21 Posted October 27, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Has anyone here got both the Leica M app and the Fotos app on their iPhone? In my case the former works for my M10, but the latter will not as the Scan QR function in the Fotos app does not work. The camera, with the latest software produces a QR code, but the code cannot be scanned. Has anyone got both apps working together? William
Advertisement Posted October 27, 2018 Posted October 27, 2018 Hi willeica, Take a look here Leica Fotos App - does it work with M10 ?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ckuwajima Posted October 27, 2018 Share #22 Posted October 27, 2018 I have both, Leica Fotos (1.0.0) and Leica M (1.1.2), in working order on my IOS 12.0.1 devices. My M10 is running 2.6.5.0 firmware.
kepstein Posted October 27, 2018 Share #23 Posted October 27, 2018 Can you tell me if the Foto App stores the images in the IOS Photo App as well. Stuart Richardson Posted October 27, 2018 Share #24 Posted October 27, 2018 (edited) May I ask where you guys got the 2.6.5 firmware? When I go to Leica USA for the M10, it says the latest firmware is 2.4.5... http://us.leica-camera.com/Photography/Leica-M/Leica-M10/Downloads Needless to say, I spent half an hour fiddling around with the Fotos app and firmware updates before I realized it would not work. Not the most impressive rollout, from my perspective. Edited October 27, 2018 by Stuart Richardson

Thanks, Ken Yes and, contrary to Leica M app, it preserves the original file name.
Stuart Richardson Posted October 27, 2018 Share #26 Posted October 27, 2018 Found it. I should note in the time that I was able to find the latest Leica firmware on their own website, I was able to download, install, connect and start browsing photos using Mark II's wifi app that he wrote to connect the M10 to a computer. Pretty cool app. Hopefully the Fotos app is as straightforward once it is installed!
brill64 Posted October 28, 2018 Share #27 Posted October 28, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Maybe some confusion is caused by not selecting the right firmware - there's M10, M10-P & M10-D which are all different updates containing a different QR code for each camera type. For those having difficulties connecting, please double-check that you've downloaded the correct firmware. When turning the Fotos app on on your phone, you're asked to select camera type - Leica M - then there is a sub-menu where you select either M10, M10-P or M10-D. Select your camera then the 'scan QR code' screen appears
M11 for me Posted October 28, 2018 Share #28 Posted October 28, 2018 (edited) Yes, first correct firmware installed . . . and then proceed slowly and read and follow exactly all the promptings . . . Then it certainly works. Edited October 28, 2018 by Alex U.
Gobert Posted October 28, 2018 Share #29 Posted October 28, 2018 This morning I’ve installed it. It did not work in first instance. But, then I remembered that LV is disabled in my settings for the simple reason that I do ot like it. Enabling LV was the solution....
UliWer Posted October 28, 2018 Author Share #30 Posted October 28, 2018 The is an update for the iOS-version of the Fotos App, v. 1.0.1 is the latest for now. Presumably also for Android, though I don‘t know it being only on iOS.
Jon Pop Posted October 28, 2018 Share #31 Posted October 28, 2018 I'm wondering if they'll ever offer the Fotos App for the iPad

Gobert Posted October 28, 2018 Share #33 Posted October 28, 2018 It works on I pad. But it’s clearly not designed for it.
mr_big Posted October 28, 2018 Share #34 Posted October 28, 2018 I'm assuming the new Fotos app is meant to replace the older app, so there's no need to keep both, correct?

jonco Posted October 29, 2018 Share #36 Posted October 29, 2018 (edited) Does anybody know what the aperture icon is suppose to do in the M app? The one between the camera icon and the magnifying glass icon. Edited October 29, 2018 by jonco typo
MarkP Posted October 29, 2018 Share #37 Posted October 29, 2018 (edited) Mine works perfectly with the latest firmware. It is beyond me why there is no histogram in the Fotos app for both the M10 and SL A major oversight in my opinion. As a consequence I have deleted the old app in the meantime and just keep the new one.
