Maxx71 Posted October 15, 2018 Share #1 Posted October 15, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) I thought I'd be wiser not getting accessories that would end up not being used like I did with my M240. Now for the M10 I have ended up with 4 soft releases, a half-case, a wrist wrap, a neck strap, the hand grip and finger loop, the thumb grip and a metal hot shoe cover (M10-P replacement part). But this time I don't regret it! To me part of the appeal of the M are all these accessories that can "customize" the look and feel of the camera. In my case, I just swap and experiment with combinations of these accessories which is another fun way of using the M. This week I have the hand and thumb grip on with a wrist strap. I'm sure next week the camera will look different. 'Just thought I'd share.

SMAL Posted October 15, 2018 Share #2 Posted October 15, 2018 It is totally part of GAS. Like my 500 backpacks and 2000 camera straps.
Arai Posted October 16, 2018 Share #3 Posted October 16, 2018 You still can use some of them with different cameras, not that bad, I bought like 2 bags a year, at least 1 camera a year, now I need to buy a new dry cabinet 😁..It’s part of our hobby
carbon_dragon Posted October 18, 2018 Share #4 Posted October 18, 2018 Hmmm... I feel a bit better now. I used one of my many discarded straps (a Crumpler) some rings from another strap and some protector pieces from another. I do plan to buy the EVF and I bought 2 extra batteries. And I guess I'm thinking about a new bag too. So many not completely immune.

earleygallery Posted October 24, 2018 Share #6 Posted October 24, 2018 It's a subconscious throwback to childhood when one played with Action Man (or dolls) and dressed them up in different outfits and accessories.
Desmoprem Posted October 27, 2018 Share #7 Posted October 27, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) I thought one of the principles of a Leica M is simplicity. While I have other lenses and accessories for my M-10, I still use only the M-10 with a 35mm Lux 95% of the time. I do have the thumb support, an Arte di Mano leather strap, a diopter, and a screen protector, but other than that...no frills. One of the advantages to not falling into the gear hoarding is there is more money available to purchase top shelf bourbon.

PasMichiel Posted January 11, 2019 Share #10 Posted January 11, 2019 rope strap, softrelease, thumb support but also the lens carrier (m6) is my setup. and Permanent marker 😉 to make the top text black of my M10-P. I do hate that the text on the softrelease does not line-up. 😉 Welcome, dear visitor! The staff at the boutique knows about my OCD, and said they actually never lineup... Hence discouraged me from buying one. LOL.

bocaburger Posted January 14, 2019 Share #13 Posted January 14, 2019 In American slang we refer to this as "pimping out" (a reference to how pimps used to customize their Cadillac Eldorado cars in the 70s). Personally I never found any of the Leica doodads useful, and many of them actually distracting.
