PiotrGoreckiJr Posted October 15, 2018 Share #1 Posted October 15, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) The manual states that the fastest sync speed for flash photography is 1/500s, but in some reviews online I read that it will work up to 1/2000s (maximal mechanical shutter speed). Can anyone confirm that 1/1000s and 1/2000s are possible with Q? It's a big deal for me before buying my first strobe.
Advertisement Posted October 15, 2018 Posted October 15, 2018 Hi PiotrGoreckiJr, Take a look here Leica Q flash sync speeds. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
antigallican Posted October 15, 2018 Share #2 Posted October 15, 2018 Yes the Leica Q will indeed synch at 2000th of a second, as indeed any leaf shutter will synch at its maximum mechanical speed. There is no question of the sensor being covered during part of the exposure, which is the issue with focal plane shutters. I have just taken a shot @ 2000th sec with my Q and sf40 to confirm the theory. No problem
Leica Guy Posted October 15, 2018 Share #3 Posted October 15, 2018 +1. I’ve used 1/2000 shutter speed with a flash many times on the Q. Works great!
