Advertisement Posted October 13, 2018 Posted October 13, 2018 Hi Roberto Watson, Take a look here Are typs 240, 246, 262 and MD using similar baseplate?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Jeff S Posted October 13, 2018 Share #2 Posted October 13, 2018 M240 and M246 are identical, using the same plate, and I ‘think’ the others are as well. But I would call or email RRS to confirm. Their customer service dept is extremely helpful and regularly deals with compatibility issues. Jeff

a.noctilux Posted October 13, 2018 Share #4 Posted October 13, 2018 Roberto, as I own M240 and M-D, when I swap their base plates, I can not mount M-D one on M240. The M240 base plate has a cut-out for lcd screen and it can be locked on M-D. M-D's one lacks the cut-out, so this prevent from mounting it on M240. So if I buy the dedicated M240 baseplate it should mount right under the MD, thank you a.noctilux I order it right away! Guest Posted October 17, 2018 Share #6 Posted October 17, 2018 Finding a like-new one 2nd hand for the M-240 in both colours shouldn’t be a problem, because of the two versions of the grip, which make the standard base-plate superfluous. I use the grip with the finger-loop and not at all the base plate, that came with the camera.

Jeff S Posted October 19, 2018 Share #8 Posted October 19, 2018 Glad it worked out. (And if it hadn’t, RRS accepts returns within 30 days without hassle). Jeff

Roberto Watson Posted October 20, 2018 Author Share #10 Posted October 20, 2018 (edited) I have one complaint about RRS L bracket: Grips for M9 and 240 RRS baseplates are exactly the same; those can be mounted indistinctly under any of the two dedicated baseplates, but L bracket for 240 baseplate can't be mounted under M9 RRS baseplate. My original interest has been the grip, wich I like so much on my M-E and Monochrom. This time I ordered the complete L bracket believing that it would fit my other two brackets for whenever the ocation, but it doesn't. Just wanted to share this experience in case it can be useful to anyone. Welcome, dear visitor! Jeff S Posted October 20, 2018 Share #11 Posted October 20, 2018 Best to call RRS in advance. But never too late... maybe they have a workaround. Jeff
Roberto Watson Posted October 21, 2018 Author Share #12 Posted October 21, 2018 Thank you Jeff, what I will do is buy the RRS M9 L bracket ($60), I should hurry since those are discontinued. Just in case I ever need one. The fault was completly mine since there is pleny of info about this two L brackets, I just didn't do the search and assume those were the same for both baseplate models, my fault. Although it would be a good idea from RRS to be compatible.
