rosuna Posted October 4, 2018 Share #1 Posted October 4, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have Lightroom 6 license but LR 7 (Classic CC) brings many improvements. The problem is I don't like the subscription approach. I was looking for alternatives. I did an extensive research. The best alternative is Luminar 2018. This app will include a file management module later this year. It is a powerful LR 7 alternative. Does anyone have experience with this app? If yes, what is your opinion regarding the quality of the RAW rendering (LR is wonderful in this regard, Apple Photos is not)?
Advertisement Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 Hi rosuna, Take a look here Luminar. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Radlerwilli Posted October 4, 2018 Share #2 Posted October 4, 2018 Hello, I'm using Luminar 2018 on my Mac. The performance is acceptable - but exports are faulty, because the program is hung up every time. So try "Affinity Photo": It runs good for RAW editing and doesn't hang up while exporting the product!
jaapv Posted October 4, 2018 Share #3 Posted October 4, 2018 It think the hangups will be solved with the recent update, not that I've experienced them.
rosuna Posted October 4, 2018 Author Share #4 Posted October 4, 2018 It think the hangups will be solved with the recent update, not that I've experienced them. Do you like the quality of the rendering (the RAW engine)? Lightroom has a superb RAW engine, and pictures have very fine detail without artifacts and natural colors. Apple embebed RAW engine is not as good as LR. My question is if Luminar has a similar high quality RAW rendering as LR.
jaapv Posted October 4, 2018 Share #5 Posted October 4, 2018 I have no real complaints. I prefer ON1, though. Nothing wrong with Affinity either.
