New Zeiss ZX1

FF 37.4 MP with fixed 35/2 lens and EVF.
No memory card. 512GB internal memory.
Lightroom CC pre-installed.
142 x 93 x 46 mm (+20mm for the lens) vs 139 x 80 x 39mm for the M10 and 113 x 65 x 72mm for the Sony RX1 with Zeiss 35/2 lens.
"This is the camera Leica should have announced at Photokina" according to Leicarumors (https://leicarumors.com/2018/09/27/zeiss-zx1-this-is-the-camera-leica-shoulds-have-announced-at-photokina.aspx/#ixzz5SO4PwOFM) .
No regret, too big for me.

What's inadequate?

I'm sure this will be an excellent digital camera – Zeiss are not a company that will make or put its name on anything substandard – but it's not for me. If I must use a digital I'd take a digital M with 35 Summicron over anything with an EVF.

Not to my taste, too boxy, but I like the clean design and the quality should be exceptional. Size? I cannot tell without handling one, but this could well be a winner and serious competition for the Q and RX1

I like the simplicity of the design. It reminds me a lot of my Light L16 in some ways, minus the multi-camera capabilities and plus an EVF.

If a fixed lens like the Q, I like the use of a 35mm focal length over a 28mm focal length. Although, in truth, I'd rather have a 45-50mm lens, and accessory matched optical wide/portrait lens adapters.

I'm mostly done with fixed lens cameras (the L16 being the exception, and it has multiple focal lengths to work with), but I could enjoy this much the way I often go out with the M-D and only the 'Lux 35mm lens.

This looks like the bomb. It's the same weight as a M9 with a 35mm Summarit, which makes it reasonable for walkaround photography. Direct manual control of shutter speed, ISO and aperture is surprisingly innovative, seen only in a few cameras like the M10 and a few Fuji X cameras. If it's around the same price as a Q, and the battery doesn't die unreasonably fast, I'll give serious thought to getting one.

Wait...you want a camera to shoot at + 1/1000 in low light?

Maybe he meant 1/1000 is a limitation for shooting in bright light at f2.

For me it is meh.

BTW, there are many unknowns here. Focusing speed is one.

Limited 6400 ISO and limited 1/1000 highest shutter speed?

dunk

Only via the dials. I think it goes to 1/8000 and ISO 51,200 if you use the touch screen on the back (or presumably if you set the shutter to A). There is also an H detent on both the ISO and shutter speed dials which must also do something in terms of the higher settings.

Limited 6400 ISO and limited 1/1000 highest shutter speed? Within its limitations a fine camera but maybe not so good for low light imaging.

...or for bright sunshine either, if its 200iso minimum you will soon run out of shutter speeds if you want to keep the aperure within reasonable limits for lens performance and diffraction.

ISO: 80-51,200 from the specs....who said  ISO 200 is the minimum ?
