Ah … hum… sometime ago I wrote in the M forum that was tempted by CL but not interested in having one "until it's  in black only"...  this announcement throws me in a corner…. let's wait to see how it looks with the black 18/55 on…

All my Leicas but one have been black body. It's what I prefer. Silver looks gaudy to my eye.

Looks great and should appeal to many and sell.  Perhaps in a year there may be a CL-P without the red logo?!  Or a white one marked the Canada edition.

Heck with the titanium finish ... Bring back the Titanium skin, as in the M9 Titan...! I doubt it will happen, but that was a pretty thing.

M10 in silver looks fine to me, but the CL in silver top and bottom with the big silver lens as shown  -- no way.  And the silver on the supposedly tiny pancake lens just shows how much of the lens space must be filled with autofocus machinery.

I have been waiting for the silver version since the CL was originally announced. I recall seeing some early pictures of it on a rumour site last year. Thought it looked stunnng then, as I do now. This will be the version I purchase As it will look awesome paired with my silver TL 35 and 60.

I love my black CL with the huge silver 35 mm 1.4 with Leica circ-polarizer. People are complicated.

I also prefer the black version as all my cameras have always been in black. But the good thing about the silver version is that one can use black lenses as well as silver lenses,

I hate black so much I bought the X-Pro 2 Graphite rather than a black CL. Now I can swap but will I? If Leica had sold the CL in silver on day 1 I would have bought it and the various lenses.

 

It is difficult choice as I will lose a lot of money.
