Advice please on practicality of using adapted M primes on the CL

I have handled a CL with some TL lenses at a dealer and decided to get the CL. Lens choice of course is less straightforward.

My main interest is landscape while mountain walking, so size and weight of equipment are sufficiently significant to me that I need to balance these considerations against versatility.

The TL zooms are already relatively compact, but I could opt for a few even lighter and more compact adapted M primes (I do not own any already).

Previously I have used a Rollei 35, Nikon FM2 and currently a Nikon Coolpix A. I have never experienced using an adapted prime on the CL. This is where I would appreciate advice, please.

Is the CL EVF bright enough to focus with a stopped down lens? In an SLR, the view darkens when you manually stop down the lens - does the EVF behave similarly, or does it compensate in some way to show a ‘brighter’ image?

Or, is it better to focus wide open then stop down if necessary (assuming no focus shift)?

Many thanks.

One of the advantages of the EVF - it retains its brightness. I doubt whether M primes are lighter considering that you will need two or three of them to cover the range of a zoom lens. These zooms are not really heavy.
