ajz Posted September 14, 2018 Share #1 Posted September 14, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) The EV setting keeps changing on its own when I use A on the speed dial. The Ev changes when I use discreet speeds too. I manually set the EV to -1/3, which works well for me and high zone 9 kind of values. I will be photographing without turning off the camera and suddenly images appear darker on the screen and I would change the fstop/shuttert o accommodate the histogram. Then I would notice the EV was -1.0 or something other than -1/3. I use 200 as the ASA (ISO). If this question is answered by another thred, please direct. thanks. Advertisement Posted September 14, 2018 Posted September 14, 2018 Hi ajz, Take a look here EV changing on its own. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
roverover Posted September 14, 2018 Share #2 Posted September 14, 2018 You may want to check your CUSTOMIZE CONTROL Settings. This is just a guess, but perhaps you have your Customize Wheel set to change the EV, which is 1 of the options.
farnz Posted September 14, 2018 Share #3 Posted September 14, 2018 I assume that you're used to centre-weighted light meters and it's not that you're inadvertently metering off brighter objects perhaps? Pete.
SMAL Posted September 14, 2018 Share #4 Posted September 14, 2018 This is the reason why I switched the thumb wheel off. When you hang the camera around your shoulder you can switch the exposure compensation really easy by accident.
ajz Posted September 24, 2018 Author Share #5 Posted September 24, 2018 Yes, thank you. you above are all correct...I did make the wheel customizable to change the EV....I just didn't realize it was doing it while wearing the camera...I turned it off and had good week in New Orleans with stable EV set at -1/3 as is my preference. Twas stable, completely without surprise. Thanks for your insight...might not have ever looked at that menu item. http://www.72km.org/nola/ sincere thanks. ~ajz

Enjoy!
