woodda Posted July 13, 2007 Share #1 Posted July 13, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Anybody had this problem. I have just had my camera and 4 lenses back from Leica and every is great except that the frame counter only shows the battery status. Help I cannot bear it going back for another 6 weeks. PS apart from that the service people were very efficient and speedy Regards

woodda Posted July 13, 2007 Author Share #2 Posted July 13, 2007 Nobody had this problem. Suggestions welcome though
carstenw Posted July 13, 2007 Share #3 Posted July 13, 2007 Contact Leica's support. I am sure they will want you to send it back though. You could ask them about a lender if you need it meanwhile.
howardeisemann Posted July 13, 2007 Share #4 Posted July 13, 2007 I experienced this problem with an M8 purchased in May (2nd generation). It was a one time occurence and seemed to respond favorably by either draining the battery and after complete recharge, reinsertion or using a completely different fully recharged battery. It does appear to be, atleast in my experience, battery voltage related, i.e over voltage, under voltage or instability.
doubice Posted July 13, 2007 Share #5 Posted July 13, 2007 I appologize for a silly question - do you have an SD card in the camera? Best, Jan
Shootist Posted July 13, 2007 Share #6 Posted July 13, 2007 I appologize for a silly question - do you have an SD card in the camera? Best, Jan Good question Jan. But I just checked mine and I get a flashing 0 (zero) when no carsd is in the camera. I'd follow the suggestion above to either drain the battery in the camera and recharge or drain the battery in the camera and then insert a new fully charged battery. woodda Posted July 13, 2007 Author Share #9 Posted July 13, 2007 This is probably a stupid question but how do yo reset the camera. Cheers
Shootist Posted July 13, 2007 Share #10 Posted July 13, 2007 This is probably a stupid question but how do yo reset the camera. Cheers Let the battery drain down in the camera. That resets the camera and supposedly calibrates the battery.
woodda Posted July 13, 2007 Author Share #11 Posted July 13, 2007 PS noticed that coded lenses only show focal length and not the lense. e.g 75mm and not 75mm F2 Asp. IS this all the coding does it does not populate the Lense EXIF info only the Focal length
Shootist Posted July 13, 2007 Share #12 Posted July 13, 2007 Yes but mine show Max Aperture also. So my 75 AA f/2 shows in bridge as Focal Length 75mm Focal Length in 35mm film 101.0mm Max Aperture Value f/2.
mustafasoleiman Posted July 13, 2007 Share #13 Posted July 13, 2007 Try formatting the card first
robsteve Posted July 14, 2007 Share #14 Posted July 14, 2007 As suggested above, try formatting the SD card in the camera. A few firmwares ago, the frame count would be wrong unless your formatted the SD card in the camera.
