fotomas Posted September 6, 2018 Share #2 Posted September 6, 2018 Press the buttons on both sides.
Khalid Posted September 10, 2018 Author Share #3 Posted September 10, 2018 Thank you Laborator, its not working I think its not moving from inside the hood.
luigi bertolotti Posted September 10, 2018 Share #4 Posted September 10, 2018 That's strange… it's a very simple mechanism… does the hood rotate a bit if you try with your hand, keeping the lens body firm with your other hand ? Looks odd, to me, that both the buttons don't act… if they apparently do not move by pushing, in case you can try a drop of lubricant at their sides... Khalid Posted September 10, 2018 Author Share #5 Posted September 10, 2018 No way, the hood is not rotating either way, I think maybe because of the filter which I screw it on my 21mm lens it is a third party filter.
a.noctilux Posted September 10, 2018 Share #6 Posted September 10, 2018 Can you unscrew the filter ? When you push the two side tabs, can you rotate the hood ?
Khalid Posted September 10, 2018 Author Share #7 Posted September 10, 2018 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thank you a.noctilux, It does not rotate its just fixed to the white index dot, no right or left turn.
jdlaing Posted September 10, 2018 Share #8 Posted September 10, 2018 If the filter is a little too thick it may have made the little tabs that fit into the groove too tight. Try pushing the hood toward the lens and then pushing the two release buttons and see if that helps.
Khalid Posted September 13, 2018 Author Share #9 Posted September 13, 2018 Thank you very much FRIENDS, Seems like I will send my lens to the Leica to remove the hood, I tried my best and thank you all for your help. Regards Khalid
bocaburger Posted September 14, 2018 Share #10 Posted September 14, 2018 While squeezing the buttons and gently pulling the hood away from the lens, rock the hood rapidly from side to side. When I had that lens the hood was very tight and that's how I sometimes had to remove it. Don't manhandle it, just gently.
Khalid Posted October 26, 2018 Author Share #11 Posted October 26, 2018 Thank you all, Today I managed to remove the hood from my Leica Elmarit -M 2.8 21mm ASPH lens by braking the inner filter ring without harming the lens, it seems the lens accepts only E55 size filter thread.
