IR-cut filter for 65mm Elmar

I've just ordered a 65mm Elmar and 16464 mount to go with a Visoflex 3 that I acquired a couple of months ago.

I'm assuming that I will need to use an IR-cut filter with this lens to ensure true colour fidelity when it is mounted on my M8 (I'm hoping to use it for flower close-ups amongst other things). however, I see that, in true Leitz/Leica tradition, it has a non-standard 41mm filter thread - AFAIK this is shared only with the long-departed Summarit 50/1.5.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to a work-around using another filter size - or is it a candidate for a Milich special? Ideally I'd like to be able to mount a lens hood in front of the filter.

I knew I'd regret selling my M2 with its Summarit, UV filter and rectangular hood all those years ago...

John maybe a step up ring to 43 or 49mm than get a screw in hood for it. Check B&h for a step up ring. Actually I will look too. 41mm could be tough though

Glad i could help . On the hood though might not need the wide angle one and since there only 10 dollars or so you might squeeze by with a normal 49mm , it may cover better. i would get both and see what works the best
