Leica CL Could Bulb Mode be Implemented on CL?

Apologies if this has been discussed before.  For those with more technical knowledge than me, is it even possible for Leica to add Bulb mode to the CL?  I was trying to do some slow shutter landscape and was frustrated by the limitation of 30 sec shutter.

The only people who know for sure whether the CL could be upgraded to include a Bulb mode shutter feature are the Leica engineers who designed it. Anything anyone else says is just conjecture.

 

It would be nice if the camera could handle up to 4 or 8 minutes, but I suppose they're being cautious about sensor heating, etc.

You would need a way to start and stop the exposure in bulb mode and since there is no cable release, it would be the iPhone app and my experience with it is......forget it.....!

There is a "T" in the shutter speed that allows you to start and stop exposure manually.  Wonder if that could be extended beyond it's limit of 30 secs.

One would think that this would be the case...however when using T the shutter closes at 30 seconds

Yes. In it current form, because there are timed shutter settings up to 30 seconds, the T option is pretty much useless. Perhaps they'll make it into a true Time/Bulb exposure for a reasonably long exposure, say, 2-4 minutes.

That would get my vote too. I’m finding night photography frustrating with the 30 second limitation.

It would be interesting to get this and other enhanced features in the mobile app.  

Hmm, I wonder if the limitation is artificial or due to something such as excess noise due to sensor heat.

Perhaps the next version could be equipped with a smoke detector which would close the shutter in due time.
