hello, when i use my Leica Ms (across most lenses, including the 50 APO), i can sometimes see what can be described as an orange and blue pattern embedded into some subject matters.

I've attached 2 examples, blown up massively and then at 200% to really show it ...one image is a brick wall, and the other rocks in a broader landscape picture.

Is this a "lens issue" like chromatic aberration, or something else (like colour noise; or moire)??

I'm trying to figure out what causes it, and how to avoid it.

Thanks so much for you're help.

Thanks for your reply.

Only thing I’d add is - is this effect also tied in with the lenses? It could be a spurious observation (ie, different days, not identical scenes), but my gut reaction was that this orange and blue “speckly mess” was less obvious when I used the SL + amazing SL 75mm Summicron ..... when I compared it to the M body + M lens.

Are the lenses also tied in with the production of moire, or have I made a spurious observation?
