Interesting and unusual. At least looks genuine and not upgraded. Unusual is that aluminum does not show any corrosion, I would expect that being under water for decades it will be. Is the Zurich lake so contaminate that aluminum does not corrodes?

Can it be restored as seller suggests? Probably yes, but one would need another contemporary camera as a donor.

Looks genuine even down to the screws on the base which seem to be 32mm apart, as they should be. I agree with Jerzy that restoration would be difficult and would not be possible without a donor body. The condition of the lens is also important and it is difficult to judge this. What would really help the value of this would be some provenance, such as the story about how the camera came to be in the lake.

Indeed, it would be very interesting to know the story behind… it can be a trivial accident of a tourist that lost its camera during a trip on the lake… but there could even be some little (or not so little) drama around… hum… difficult to investigate… but the timeframe isn't too wide… a patient search on local newspapers abut drownings in the lake…  Has some Swiss member the will to… ?
