Leitz attention to detail, script "L"

I have collected Leitz microscopes and have 162 of them, mostly brass and before 1930 and as early as 1883.

Of course, without microscopes there probably would be no Leica.

I recently noticed that some of the steel keys to the wood boxes for microscope storage and shipping have a nice touch in that the script "L" for Leitz is included.  It is always nice to be reminded how much care and detail came with the leitz brand.  If there are any microscope enthusiast, I would enjoy a PM, so as not to distrub the camera only lovers.

Interesting key. I have a couple of 1920s Leitz microscopes but neither has an ornate key

Wow, those are beautiful instruments, gentlemen, so don't be concerned about our not being interested. Who could resist them? Better looking than most Leica photographic gear, with shiny brass, glass and black metal all making showpiece collectibles. Please share more pictures of these lovely man-made works of art.

I imagine that any "software" i.e. instruction books and related paperwork are pretty rare, more so than the "hardware" that few people throw out?
